RP
If there is a runner on first, the batter hits a groundball to the fielder who starts a double-play. The runner on 1st breaks up the double-play but the umpire rules interference occurred – it goes into the book as a double-play!
With no runner on first, the batter grounds our with the runners holding.
E1
Error, batter to first, runners advance 1 base.
E2
Error, batter to second, runners advance 2 bases.
Batter
Batter is out, runners advance only if forced.
DP43
Batter is out, runner on first is out (Double Play). Other runners advance 1 base.
Force
Batter is safe, runner at rirst is out going to second. Other runners advance 1 base.
Runadv
Batter is out, all runners advance 1 base.
Leadr
Batter is safe, lead runner is out.
Down
Runner on third gets caught in a rundown and is tagged out. Batter is safe on a fielders choice and the runner on first goes to second.
Decide
Lead runner can attempt to advance a base (compute his safe chances as: Running speed minus 4 plus fielders defensive rating; max safe range is 1-19). If the offensive manager decides to attempt this, the defense must then decide if it wants to take the sure out at first (batter is automatically out and all runners advance 1 base). Note that on a groundball hit to the catcher if the lead runner is on third he holds and the batter is out at first.
DP54
If the ball is hit to the catcher or the third baseman then the result is a thirdbase to secondbase double-play (batter is safe). Otherwise, refer to DP43.
DP23
If the ball is hit to the pitcher, catcher or an infielder who is positioned IN then the result is a home to first double-play (runners on first and second move up). Otherwise, refer to DP43.
Right
Ball hit to first or second, batter is out and runner advances. Ball hit to shortstop, pitcher or catcher – see Decide. Ball hit to thirdbase – batter is out and runner holds.
